Faith United Lutheran Parish

Blood Drives

Picture
Our Parish usually holds two blood drives each year (one in the Spring and one in the fall) with the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank.  Anyone in the community is welcome to give at Barren's United Lutheran Church in Dillsburg.  Questions, contact Jan Keslar or Linda Gochenauer.  These ladies, along with Donna Rupp provide wonderful food for everyone who attempts to donate.  Walk-ins are welcome!

Habitat For Humanity

Picture
Habitat for Humanity International was founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller.  Today, Habitat for Humanity is a true world leader in addressing the issues of poverty housing.  We are a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. We build with people in need regardless of race or religion. We welcome volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds.  Our houses are simple, decent, and affordable to low-income families around the world.

Heifer International

Heifer International's mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the Earth.

Our animals don't just provide project partners with a reliable source of food, but also a reliable source of income. Extra agricultural products, such as milk from cows or goats, honey from bees or eggs from chickens, can be both shared within the community and sold at market. This new income, coupled with the training in sustainable practices that our partners receive, allows partners to clothe their families, provide them with medical care and send their children to school.

Malaria Campaign

Picture
The ELCA, through the ELCA Malaria Campaign, is joining hands with eleven Lutheran church bodies in Africa and becoming part of an historic global movement to say, “enough is enough!” No child, no person, should die of a disease that is both preventable and treatable. Therefore the ELCA Malaria Campaign has committed to raise $15 million to help prevent, treat and educate communities in Africa about malaria and eliminate deaths from this disease—for good.
